As the story begins, the readers see an unhealthy glimpse of the world. The state of the world is immersed with chaos and lawlessness, yet a sign of hope is revealed through a select group of people who follows after Christ. Now, before this reveal is made clear, “The Book of Kings” foretells a story about a certain group of people and kings of the world. During this time, the world is reformed into a Kingship Era and governed by the Guardians. The alignment of reality shifts cultures and changes the lives of every single person in the world. This first article will share some of the viewpoints above and character introductions from the first few chapters of “The Book of Kings”.
“As the stars align, the kingdoms appeared” could be literal yet figurative in context. From the first paragraph of the book sharing the state of the world and the rest of the first chapter showcasing the kingdoms origins, pandemonium subverts the people in the world. Mankind has found himself in a state of forgetfulness, abandoning the constitutions and laws of their being. Moral and religious beliefs have decreased year after year, and so fear has taken its place in the lives of the people. When fear is within someone, they are consumed by what makes them afraid. It becomes difficult for someone to be free from whatever fear they have. People are afraid of change, and these people of the world entered into a new era known as the Kingship Era, filled with these changes.
The old customs and traditions that people lived by were now introduced to a new way of living. A culture and system that proved to be beneficial to some and inconvenient to others. What kind of people were benefactors to this era? The people who embraced the change and the high class received great benefits from this. Unfortunately, that leaves anyone else in shambles. The middle and lower class shared a variety of circumstances if they did not fit the rule of the Kingship Era. Nevertheless, not all kingdoms and people found themselves in a terrible new reality.
There were consequences for every last person, even the Guardians who were later introduced as the founders of this new era. No one was exempt as Mankind brought forth their own demise. The first paragraph of the book shares briefly of the Guardians, Dragon, and God. Three factors which influence every human being respectively. The Guardians perceive to work alongside the Dragon, yet they don’t realize they are being influenced by his decisive manipulations and seductions. In their minds, they believe they are in control of the Dragon and their conquest for world dominance and order. However, since man found themselves removed from godliness and into a world of sin and chaos, God had allowed them to embrace their free will to the full extent. There is a remnant of people who still follow Him, and are trying to navigate through the trials and tribulations they face on an everyday level. The scale of wickedness proceeds to engulf the Christian remnant, but God’s judgement is omnipotent and absolute. In spite of many people being drawn into this blackhole of chaos, God raises a people who establish a standard.
In the old Testament, God raised the children of Israel before the world, and they journeyed for the Promised Land. During this time, God proclaimed that all the people who were in their way had to be destroyed, unless He told them to spare the people. God’s judgement involves whatever He designs to take place, and in this Kingship Era His judgement reigns supreme. He raises up a kingdom army that fights against the evils of the world and defend His name. Once the Day of the Lord and the Armageddon must take place, so will time have to run its course according to the Scriptures “wars and rumors of wars… the love of many will wax cold.” “The Lord is a man of war; the Lord is His name.” (Exodus 15:3). There is no escaping warfare, but the natural warfares happening are an emphasis of something bigger, such as the spiritual warfare taking place in the spiritual realm. When you observe and read about the many battles taken place, recognize the magnitude of what is taking place on another level. Man appear to fight one another, but the true adversary can not be seen; however, these men are allowing themselves to be used as pawns in a greater scheme than visualized.
So, as you read the Book of Kings analyzing the characters, their lives, the shape of the world and its situation, notice the correlations between all these factors. One must come to the frightening conclusion that the world will fall short of perfection, until Jesus return, where he will make everything perfect once and for all.
